The proposed trail will connect the Village of Elk Rapids, Eastport, and Norwood at the south end of Fisherman’s Island State Park. This unique section of the corridor is bordered on the west side by Lake Michigan and on the east side by Elk and Torch Lakes, and features a number of natural areas and parks. The landscape is characterized by rural forested areas and agricultural lands.
At Torch Lake Cafe, we know firsthand how beautiful it is in this part of Michigan. We feel lucky to be able to offer a welcoming place for Nawkema Trailway riders to stop, relax, and grab a delicious meal on our porch or in our restaurant. Happy Trails!Jim Hettinger
